Monteput has signed a contract with Via Project from Podgorica for the preparation of the conceptual design for the Podgorica - Tuzi (Božaj) expressway, spanning 23 kilometers. The contract is valued at €90,992 (including VAT), with a deadline of four months for the completion of the design from the date of contract signing.
The construction of this expressway will significantly improve traffic connectivity between Podgorica and Tuzi, and enhance Montenegro's connection with Albania. Additionally, the road will provide a direct link to the Bar-Boljare highway, boosting regional connectivity and promoting economic cooperation and development.
The primary goal of creating the technical documentation is to thoroughly examine various route options, allowing for the selection of the optimal route from the Smokovac interchange to the Božaj border crossing. The conceptual design will help define the exact route, determine the road's classification, and establish technical characteristics, ensuring that this corridor is incorporated into Montenegro's Spatial Plan through 2040.
The ongoing public tenders and calls for the development of project documentation for multiple sections lay the groundwork for the future construction of approximately 260 kilometers of highways and 220 kilometers of expressways. These projects are part of five development corridors defined by the Government of Montenegro, which encompass 18 sections of highways and expressways.
