Paving Scheduled to Begin July 29 on Route 56 in Center Township, Indiana County

​Indiana, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that paving will begin July 29, 2024, on Route 56 in Center Township, Indiana County.

July 29 through August 10, 2024,milling and paving will occur on Route 56 between the intersections of Route 119 and Route 954 near Coy's Pizza. Traffic will be one-lane controlled by flaggers.

The $4.9 million project is being completed by contractor, Quaker Sales Corporation of Johnstown, PA.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 950 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
