Law.com International Ranks Dechert Number One for Pro Bono in the UK

Law.com International has ranked Dechert number one for pro bono work in the UK for the second consecutive year. The rankings are based on the publication's annual UK pro bono survey that focuses on the total number of pro bono hours a firm worked, as well as the percentage of each firm's total lawyer headcount working on pro bono matters.

The recognition reflects the hard work of Dechert's lawyers at all levels of seniority across the London office, providing pro bono legal advice to those who cannot otherwise afford it as well as working on matters of wider public interest both domestically and internationally. Several recent initiatives the survey highlights includes: lending investment advice to the Growth Impact Fund, which offers capital for early-stage social businesses working to address inequalities; collaborating with the Kids in Need of Defense UK and Central England Law Centre to support undocumented children applying for UK citizenship; and working with the Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and the Rule of Law and a number of other law firms on an Afghan lawyer resettlement project, which assists Afghan lawyers at risk in relocating to Germany.
