If you've recently tried to log in to your ARIN Online account after a long period of inactivity only to find that it is locked, you might be wondering what caused the issue. The most likely reason is a security measure implemented by ARIN.
ARIN has been making significant updates to its security protocols, including a requirement for all ARIN Online accounts to be secured with multifactor authentication (MFA). The final reminder about this change was sent on 9 September 2024 and stated that any accounts not secured with MFA would be locked as of 7 October 2024. For more details, you can review this announcement here.
As a result, if you are trying to access your ARIN Online account and it is locked, you will need to contact the Registration Services Help Desk for assistance with unlocking your account.
For help with questions about ARIN resources and services, including unlocking access to your ARIN Online account, contact our Registration Services Help Desk at +1.703.227.0660 Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM ET.
To ensure the security of your account and valuable resources, ARIN has introduced a new video verification process. This additional step will help confirm your identity as the rightful holder of the account. Here's what you can expect:
This added layer of security is designed to protect your account from unauthorized access and ensure that only the rightful account holder can regain access.
We understand that this is a new process and may feel different from what you're used to. However, due to the increasing importance of protecting your resources and the rise in domain re-registration activities, we believe this additional verification step is crucial for safeguarding your account and sensitive data.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience during this transition. The video verification process will significantly strengthen the security of your account and enhance the overall protection of your resources.
