The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) within the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released updates to their biennial brief of Adult Day Services Characteristics. The data is collected from the 2022 National Post-acute and Long-term Care Study.

NCHS estimates 3,100 licensed adult day services centers served about 182,000 participants, with 58% of attendees being female. The data are interesting, though not reflective solely of aging services adult day centers, nor of the full breadth of unlicensed providers of adult day. More than two of every three participants were over 65 years of age.

The brief offers additional insights on characteristics of participants including activity of daily living limitations and incidence of chronic conditions, though these data aren't stratified by age.
