On October 17, 2024, the New York State Police responded to the Rhinebeck High School for several threats to the school.
Investigation determined the threats were not credible, but a search of the building was conducted out of an abundance of caution. No evidence of any safety threat was found. Further investigation led to the arrest of an 18-year-old student.
The 18-year-old was issued an appearance ticket for Making a Threat of Mass Harm, a class B misdemeanor, returnable to the village of Rhinebeck Court on November 6, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
