City of Colorado Springs releases 2025-2030 Homelessness Response Action Plan

The City of Colorado Springs today released its Homelessness Response Action Plan, a long-term plan that reflects the community's priorities and outlines 60 key strategies to address homelessness in Colorado Springs.

The plan prioritizes six key focus areas: enforcement and cleanup; street outreach and shelter; homelessness prevention; employment; housing and supportive services; and collaborate and public communications. The plan's priorities guide a comprehensive strategy focused on both immediate needs and long-term solutions.

"Homelessness is an issue that impacts all of us. Whether I'm speaking with residents, hearing from businesses, or speaking with service providers, the concern is clear - homelessness weighs heavily on our community", said Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade. "I want to ensure we are striking a balance between compassion and public safety. It is imperative we care for our residents who are experiencing homelessness, while continuing to meet the public safety needs of our community. Colorado Springs has already become an example across the state and country for our approach in addressing homelessness. That is where this plan not only expands on our current successes but allows us to explore new and innovative solutions."

Mayor Yemi also emphasized that government cannot solve homelessness alone and that the issue demands a multifaceted approach with support and collaboration from community partners.

The plan builds on past community efforts that have expanded facilities and launched existing programs. It aims to establish a coordinated, responsive system that supports people experiencing homelessness in finding a pathway to permanent housing.
