Washington - In the wake of devastating storms that affected a vast portion of Texas from April 26 to June 5, Congressman Lance Gooden has been working in coordination with FEMA to provide assistance to impacted counties in his district. Rep. Gooden can now announce that FEMA assistance will be provided to Dallas, Henderson, Kaufman, and Van Zandt counties. In addition, a Disaster Recovery Center will be operational in Henderson county.
"Our response to natural disasters must be swift and all-encompassing," stated Congressman Gooden. "Securing FEMA assistance across multiple counties ensures that every affected Texan has immediate access to the help they need."

By Phone: Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. Lines are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. CT, and assistance is available in most languages.
The deadline for applications is July 16, 2024. Resident are urged to apply as soon as possible to ensure the fastest possible processing of their applications.

The Disaster Recovery Center in Henderson County, located at 3344 TX 31 E. Athens, TX 75752 will open on June 11. It will offer services from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, facilitating applications for FEMA assistance, and addressing specific needs such as home repairs, personal property losses, and other storm-related expenses.
Residents of Henderson County are encouraged to visit the Disaster Recovery Center for support. For those unable to attend in person, assistance remains accessible online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA mobile app, or by contacting the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362, where support is available in most languages.
Congressman Gooden continues to work closely with FEMA, state, and local agencies to monitor the recovery process and ensure that all available federal resources are leveraged to aid in the swift recovery of the district.
