NEW YORK- Federal Reserve Bank of New York President John C. Williams will visit the New York City borough of Queens on Monday, December 2, to meet with leaders in government, transportation, community development, and business.
The first engagement on this daylong regional visit will be in Long Island City, where President Williams will hear from government officials about economic and business conditions in Queens. Next, he will meet with leaders from JetBlue Airways to learn about the company's business operations in the borough.
He will then travel to Flushing, where he will meet with representatives of Asian Americans for Equality. There, he will participate in a roundtable discussion with community leaders to hear how they are addressing areas of need through programming and partnerships.
From there, President Williams will travel to LaGuardia Airport, where he will meet with leaders from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to hear about the economic impact of New York City's regional airports.
The final stop of the day will be in East Elmhurst, where President Williams will deliver remarks on the economic outlook and take questions from members of the Queens business community.
These meetings serve to inform President Williams on regional issues and are part of the New York Fed's ongoing efforts to assess economic conditions across the Federal Reserve's Second District.
