Brainard Avenue Resurfacing Project - Construction Update

Work on the resurfacing of Brainard Avenue has continued with the installation of asphalt binder from Ogden Avenue to 47th Street. Parking along the roadway on both sides will be restricted while this operation is occurring, which is expected to conclude by the end of the week. As a reminder, motorists should obey all construction signage and flaggers through the work zone. Please also note that traffic and crosswalk markings will be absent for the next two-three weeks.

The Village is working with the contractor to minimize disruptions at key times during the day. Beginning on Monday, August 19th, periodic road closures for work on individual block segments will occur between 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., with detour signage to adjacent streets. Sidewalk and pedestrian traffic will remain open in addition to the railroad crossing.

The timing of construction activities is variable and weather dependent. Construction activities are expected to continue for approximately two more weeks before the final street resurfacing and striping will be complete. Rail commuters who normally utilize Brainard Ave are encouraged to plan for additional time in their morning routine or to seek alternate routes during the construction.
