L.A. Area Chamber Successfully Preserves $50M for Women-Supportive Workforce Programs

by L.A. Area Chamber

LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 1, 2024 - The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce released the following statement regarding efforts to preserve $50M for women-supportive workforce programs. Last week, the Chamber successfully preserved $50 million in state funding for two workforce development programs that support women in the workforce: the High Road Training Partnership (HRTP) and the Equal Representative in Construction Apprenticeship (The ERiCA Grant).

"For the past six months, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce has advocated to preserve the HRTP and The ERiCA Grant. The Chamber recognized the detrimental impact proposed cuts would have on regional economic and workforce development, with a particular blow to women in construction and other high-demand industries. We are pleased with the outcome," stated Maria S. Salinas, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.
