After the match away to Union Berlin, goalkeeper Gregor Kobel spoke about the reasons for the defeat and the things that the team need to do better.

Gregor Kobel on the balance of play:
\"We expected Union to play exactly the way that they did today. They were not quite so high that we couldn't play through the No. 6, but they completely took away our dribbling via the central defenders. But we were able to play via the No. 9 option: lay it off, the No. 8s come, we pick up the knock-downs, and then from there you can attack the space in behind via the flanks or control the match. But we didn't manage to keep hold of the second balls. Union were more present in that regard. We need to put up some resistance on that front.\"

…on Union Berlin's goals:
\"The penalty was lucky, as was the second goal when I didn't see the ball. But we must put ourselves in better situations when we are defending. We started the season well but we have simply given away too many good chances in our last matches.\"

…on the second 45 minutes:
\"The fact they no longer pressed quite so high in the second half as they did in the first is very normal. They could not keep up the tempo that they set for 90 minutes. When a team expends so much energy and runs so much, then we must be clever enough and get through those spells. And when they are then tired, we can play more. You could see that in the second period: They did not just withdraw because of the scoreline, it was primarily down to energy.\"

…on the lessons learned from the game:
\"We're playing every three days. We're travelling a lot, we're going to bed late - you're tired. It's difficult to perform at 100% for 90 minutes every three days. It was completely okay in Bruges. We kept the score to 0-0 and we scored our goals at the end and went home with the three points. We're currently not disciplined enough to keep a clean sheet. The opposition can sometimes be better, they may sometimes have more chances in spells. You won't have play the opposition off the park in 34 matches.\"
