CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Corpus Christi Animal Care Services (CCACS) is excited to announce pet food donation stations throughout the city. These stations, set up in partnership with local businesses, aim to collect pet food donations for the Community Pet Food Pantry, which provides temporary assistance to families struggling to afford food for their pets.
"By providing food and extra resources to the community, we can temporarily help families in need," said Kathleen Chapa, Director of Animal Care Services. "Establishing these donation stations with our local partners will increase the number of families we can assist through the food pantry."
Donations stations are now set up at the following locations:
Community members who are able and would like to help are encouraged to purchase an extra bag or can of pet food and drop it off in the designated bins at these locations.
Animal Care Services created the Community Pet Food Pantry in August; since then, it has helped 265 needy families. The next Pet Pantry distribution event is scheduled for November 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 2626 Holly Road.
Residents can receive support for up to three pets. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, residents of Corpus Christi, and present a valid ID to qualify. Food will be provided while supplies last.
