Terracon Foundation Awards More than $227,000 in University and Community Grants

OLATHE, Kan. - The Terracon Foundation today announced it has awarded $227,770 in grants and scholarships to 13 universities and 21 not-for-profit organizations throughout the U.S. Established in 2008 as the community investment arm of Terracon, the Foundation has granted over $4 million to community organizations, universities, scholarships for dependents of employees, and disaster relief efforts.

"The focus of the Terracon Foundation is education and the built and natural environment with the goal of playing a meaningful role in the lives of our employees and the communities we serve," said Derek Koller, CIH, CHMM, chair of the Terracon Foundation and manager of the company's Tucson office. "Employee advocacy for the schools and nonprofits important to them directly informs the foundation's support of schools, students and nonprofits."

The Terracon Foundation presented a total of $171,590 to 13 universities:

  • Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona
  • Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama
  • Campbell University, Buies Creek, North Carolina
  • Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado
  • Columbus State University, Columbus, Georgia
  • Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana
  • Shippensburg University, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania
  • Tennessee Tech University, Cookeville, Tennessee
  • Thomas More University, Crestview Hills, Kentucky
  • University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona
  • University of Louisville (J.B. Speed School of Engineering), Louisville, Kentucky
  • University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Charlotte, North Carolina

The Terracon Foundation awarded more than $56,000 in community grants to 21 nonprofit organizations:
