PORT OF LOS ANGELES HOSTS FREE PUBLIC BOAT TOURS OF LOS ANGELES HARBOR ON SEPT. 14

Tours Offered at Two Port Locations in San Pedro and Wilmington

LOS ANGELES - Sept. 3, 2024 - The Port of Los Angeles is offering the public free boat tours of Los Angeles Harbor, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 14 aboard Harbor Breeze Cruises. Tours will depart every 30 minutes from two locations: Banning's Landing Community Center at 100 E. Water Street in Wilmington and Downtown Harbor (near the Los Angeles Maritime Museum) at 6th Street and Harbor Boulevard in San Pedro.
Tours begin at 10 a.m. with the last tour departing at 3 p.m. A limited number of free tour reservations are available on the Port of Los Angeles website. Free standby tours are also available on a first-come, first served basis. The standby line will close at 1 p.m., or earlier, if the line exceeds maximum capacity. Wheelchair-accessible boarding is available at both docks with designated visitor parking at each location.
All ages are welcome. Additionally, three boat tours will be designated as "dog-friendly" to accommodate well- socialized and behaved, leashed dogs. Dog-friendly tours depart at 11 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.
Visitors will experience 50-minute narrated tours along the bustling Los Angeles Main Channel that include up-close views of the nation's busiest port, including active vessels, cargo terminals, cranes. Harbor scenery may include cargo and cruise ships, tugs, barges, fireboats, and active marine wildlife.
Visitors may take tours from each side of the Port, offering the full perspective of L.A. Harbor, showcasing both sides of the iconic Vincent Thomas Bridge, the official welcoming monument of the City of Los Angeles. Those interested may preview scenes from the Port of Los Angeles, courtesy of its two livestream cameras.
While in the area, visitors are encouraged to explore LA Waterfront attractions that are free to the public. Harbor boat tours are available for purchase year-round on Harbor Breeze Cruises.
