Washington D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) gave remarks at the 38th Annual Jose I. Ricard Family Medicine & Sports Medicine Conference on the work she is doing in Congress to address rural healthcare issues and highlighted the importance of family medicine.
"Rural healthcare has been a priority of mine over the last several years. It is a heartbreaking reality that many patients in West Virginia don't have access to resources, nearby hospitals, and medical treatment. Our state recognizes the need for more physicians, that's why I am grateful for the Family Medicine Foundation of West Virginia's commitment to increasing healthcare opportunities and funding medical students so they can best serve our rural communities in the future. This conference was a wonderful opportunity to hear about the impact of family medicine and discuss ways in how we in Congress can continue to make quality healthcare available and affordable for West Virginians," said Congresswoman Miller.
