MILWAUKEE - Marquette University's College Bound Scholars program will host its "Be The Difference" Youth Town Hall, an event designed to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders. The free, public event will take place Wednesday, July 24, at 1 p.m. at Varsity Theatre, 1324 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson will be a special guest to underscore the importance of youth advocacy and community engagement in driving meaningful change. He will join inspiring speakers and youths to lead meaningful discussions on how young people can make their community a safer and better place and be a catalyst for change.

Media interested in attending should contact Melissa Barclay, senior communication specialist, at [email protected]. Interview requests with Johnson should be arranged in advance of the event.

The College Bound Scholars Program encompasses six precollege programs, including Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search. These programs annually serve more than 900 low-income and first-generation students who reside in Milwaukee. Their mission is to provide support and opportunities that foster academic success and personal growth.
