Chandler moves towards construction…

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Chandler City Council recently approved a construction services agreement to Hunter Contracting Co. for the initial procurement of specific construction materials for the new pickleball and tennis courts at Tumbleweed Park.

Pickleball has a loyal following in Chandler and in October 2023, City Council approved the design of new courts at Tumbleweed Park. The pickleball complex will be located at the southeast corner of Germann Road and Pioneer Pkwy.

The project will add 18 outdoor pickleball courts and accompanying restrooms, practice areas, equipment storage, drinking fountains and parking, as well as three tennis courts and lighting updates at the Chandler Tennis Center.

The final construction contract is scheduled to go before City Council in September 2024. If approved, construction will begin in fall 2024 and the project is expected to be complete fall 2025. Visit Chandler pickleball for project updates.
