Three Alarm Fire on the corner of Piety and Dauphine

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 1:04 p.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to reports of a commercial building's roof being on fire. The first NOFD company arrived at 1:10 p.m. and were confronted with fire coming from the roof of the building on the corner of Piety and Dauphine. After a few minutes of conducting an interior attack on the fire, the incident commander pulled fire personnel out of the building due to fire and weather conditions. A second and third alarm was initiated to help fellow fire personnel mitigate and extinguish the active fire in the attic that could cause further damage to the building or other residences in its immediate vicinity.

Twenty-five NOFD units, supported by Sixty-two Fire Operations personnel were used to bring this incident under control at 3:21 p.m. There were no reported injuries, and the cause of this fire is under investigation.
