Royal Ascot’s Britannia Stakes chalks up £1.25 million for charities

Flutter donates profits alongside other Betting & Gaming Council members, landing a windfall for some of the UK's top charities

London - June 21, 2021 - Flutter UK & Ireland brands joined forces with other Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) members to donate profits from last Thursday's Britannia Stakes event at Royal Ascot to UK charities. A total of £1.25 million was raised from the event.

Members taking part in the initiative donated all profits from single and each way bets for the Britannia Stakes race placed both online and in high-street shops. Thanks to the support of racing fans, Flutter brands including Sky Bet, Paddy Power and Betfair donated a total of £455,567 alone.

"We were delighted to partner with other BGC members once again for this event. We hope this donation will make a massive difference to the charities involved." said Conor Grant, Chief Executive Officer at Flutter UK&I.

Thanks to the support of racing fans who placed a bet on the race, Prostate Cancer UK, Marie Curie, the three Armed Forces charities and Care Radio will receive a share of the £1.25 million raised.
