The remnants of Tropical Storm Sara are dissipating as it continues into the Gulf of Mexico. While the storm is expected to bring strong wind gusts and several inches of rain to Florida's Big Bend region, the National Weather Service predicts Volusia County will likely experience only about an inch of rain and minimal wind gusts from the storm beginning early Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service does not anticipate issuing any watches or warnings for Volusia County. However, an increased risk of severe rip currents is expected. Although there is no current threat to Volusia County, residents are encouraged to monitor the storm, as tropical systems can quickly change direction and intensity.
