President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received former President of Latvia

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received former President of Latvia Egils Levits, who had arrived in Yerevan to participate in the 5th Global Forum Against the Crime of Genocide.

The President welcomed the guest and expressed gratitude for his participation in the significant event.

Over the course of the meeting, they discussed contemporary challenges related to genocide and crimes against humanity, as well as the implementation of collective measures to address them. The necessity of effectively applying international legal mechanisms and tools for preventing such crimes was emphasized.

The interlocuters exchanged views on regional and global developments, pathways, and opportunities for ensuring sustainable peace and developing democratic institutions.
Both sides also positively assessed the friendly nature of relations between Armenia and Latvia, as well as the close cooperation between the two countries in bilateral and international formats.
