It was an enormous privilege to join the Tewkesbury Town Mayor on 10 November to lay a wreath on behalf of the borough during the annual act of remembrance. The crowds, of all ages, that lined the streets show how important it is for our residents to take that moment to reflect on those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. It was also heartening to see so many youth groups on parade, and full credit to their leaders for the support and time they give.
The following morning, I handed a wreath to the 7.40am GWR 'Poppies to Paddington' train at Ashchurch Station.

The wreaths collected on route formed part of the Paddington Station ceremony at 11am.
Meanwhile, back at the borough council offices at 11am, I was joined by representatives from the military, police, Alderman Knight School and Mary P's Nursery to observe the two-minute silence and lay a wreath there.
In a completely different vein, I enjoyed attending Hartbury University and College's awards ceremony to see the achievements of their impressive students. This year was particularly special in that Martin Clunes was appointed their first chancellor. It was great fun to meet him!

Tewkesbury Abbey hosts many concerts, and I was fortunate to be invited to hear the Cotswold (75 years) and Pendyrus (100 years) Male Voice Choirs performing a varied range that spanned from Mr Blue Sky to Cwn Rhondda!

They were joined by soloists Jessica Robinson and Gregory Stewart, and the event hosted by Mark Cummings. Thank you for the invite - I very much enjoyed it.
The St John's Players from Churchdown performed their take on the play 'Pack of Lies', which is based on a true story from the 1950/60s of Russian Spies living next door to unsuspecting neighbours in Ruislip. Another excellent production - here's a photo of the cast and, I have to say, some gate crashers!!
