Gov. Beshear Makes Appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky.(Aug. 30, 2024) - Gov. Andy Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed Christopher Kelley of Maysville as the Commonwealth's Attorney for the 19th Judicial Circuit of Kentucky to serve subject to the provisions of Section 152 of the Constitution of Kentucky.

• Christopher Kelley is the former 1st Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the 19th Judicial Circuit. He replaces J. Kelly Clarke, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Jeffrey Brock, Caryl Pfeiffer, Ashli Watts, Mark Gooch, Brian Weisker, Kevin Nolan and John Crockett as members of the Energy Planning and Inventory Commission to serve for terms expiring Aug. 15, 2028.

• Jeffrey Brock of Frankfort is a professional engineer and business manager of Alliance Coal LLC.
• Caryl Pfeiffer of Lexington is a retired employee of LG&E/KU.
• Ashli Watts of Frankfort is CEO of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
• Mark Gooch of Pikeville is a banker at Community Trust Bank.
• Brian Weisker of Charlotte is president of the Natural Gas Business Unit at Duke Energy.
• Kevin Nolan of Louisville is president and CEO of GE Appliances.
• John Crockett of Louisville is CEO of LG&E/KU.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Eston Glover of Elkton as a member of the Energy Planning and Inventory Commission Executive Committee to serve for a term expiring Aug. 15, 2028.

• Eston Glover of Elkton is a retired president and CEO of Pennyrile Rural Electric Cooperative.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Jaclyn Cooper Henson of Russell Springs as a member of the Kentucky State Board of Chiropractic Examiners to serve for a term expiring March 28, 2027.

• Jaclyn Cooper Henson is a chiropractor at Cooper Chiropractic Center.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Dale Losey of Cold Spring as a member of the Kenton County Airport Board to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2028.

• Dale Losey is CEO of Chavez Properties.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Sarah Snipes of Frankfort to the Kentucky Technical Education Personnel Board to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2028.

• Sarah Snipes is an employee of the Kentucky Department of Education. She replaces Matthew Ross, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Nathan Kent and Todd Kelley as members of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council for terms expiring July 1, 2028. Additionally, he has appointed Tony Gray Jr. as a member of the Council for a term expiring Aug. 26, 2028.

• Nathan Kent of Cadiz is the chief of police for the city of Mayfield.
• Todd Kelley of Ashland is the chief of police for the city of Ashland.
• Tony Gray Jr. of Danville is the chief of police for the city of Danville. He replaces Arthur Ealum, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Jason Reeves, Deborah Atherton and Jana Francis as members of the School Curriculum, Assessment and Accountability Council to serve for terms expiring Oct. 4, 2025. Additionally, he has appointed Alan Young, Carrie Ballinger and Josh Trosper as members of the Council to serve for terms expiring Aug. 28, 2026.

• Jason Reeves of Barbourville is a professor of education at Georgetown College and represents university professors with expertise in assessment and measurement as a member of the Council.
• Deborah Atherton of Mount Washington is a retired educator and current school board member. She represents members of local school boards as a member of the Council.
• Jana Francis of Owensboro is the director of assessment for Daviess County Public Schools and represents assessment coordinators as a member of the Council.
• Alan Young of Louisville is an educator at Jefferson County Public Schools. He represents teachers as a member of the Council and replaces Jennifer Urie, whose term has expired.
• Carrie Ballinger of McKee is the superintendent of Rockcastle County Public Schools. She represents superintendents as a member of the Council and replaces Henry Webb, whose term has expired.
• Josh Trosper of Heidrick is a high school assistant principal of Knox County Public Schools. He represents principals as a member of the Council and replaces Lisa Kear, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Michael Carter of Richmond to the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology to serve for a term expiring February 1, 2026.

• Michael Carter is a self-employed nail technician and represents licensed nail technicians as a member of the Board.
