DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania, July 27 -- On the morning of Wednesday, local time, the Chinese naval vessels arrived in Tanzania for the maritime phase of "Peace Unity-2024". The militaries of China, Tanzania and Mozambique will hold "Peace Unity-2024" joint exercise from late-July to mid-August.

Around 10 a.m. local time, the Chinese naval flotilla, composed of the amphibious dock landing ship Wuzhishan, the amphibious dock landing ship Qilianshan and the guided-missile destroyer Hefei, arrived in Tanzania. A grand welcome ceremony was held at Dar es Salaam Port, attended by Real Admiral Ameir Hassan, Commander of the Naval Force of Tanzania, along with other military and political officials, staff from the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania, local residents, overseas Chinese, and representatives from Chinese-funded institutions.

Under the theme of joint counter-terrorism military operations, the joint exercise will be carried out both on land and at sea. Nine subjects will be conducted at sea, such as port joint defense, counter-terrorism tactics, boarding and seizure operations, visit board search and seizure (VBSS), anti-terrorism and anti-piracy, and joint maritime patrols. During the exercise, the flotilla will also organize cultural exchanges, deck receptions, and vessel open days.
