Mayor Arulampalam is among the 39 mayors from 27 U.S. cities and 12 international cities across 11 countries and five continents who will receive executive education and management training to strengthen their city hall and deliver results for communities

HARTFORD, CONN - Today, Mayor Arulampalam announced being selected for the eighth class of the Bloomberg Harvard Leadership Initiative, joining 39 mayors from 11 countries, representing cities from Philadelphia to Nairobi, to participate in the yearlong professional management training program. This comes on the heels of Mayor Arulampalam being elected to the Advisory Board of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, representing Connecticut and New England on the national stage.

"Every Hartford resident deserves to be connected to each other and to their City government, and I plan to bring that approach and share Hartford's progress with leaders across the nation and beyond," said Mayor Arulampalam. "I'm committed to collaborating with mayors on a national level to exchange ideas and bring innovative solutions back to Hartford."

Mayor Arulampalam will attend initiative programming starting Sunday, July 14th through today, Wednesday, July 17th in New York City.

With today's announcement, the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative will have provided training to 314 mayors and over 540 senior city leaders across 33 countries and six continents since its launch in 2017.
