Parade and Celebration Ceremony for Orlando Pride Following Championship Victory Set for Monday in Downtown Orlando

NOVEMBER 24, 2024, ORLANDO, FL- Last night the Orlando Pride capped a historic season by winning the National Women's Soccer League championship. The Pride, who set a league record for victories, are the first professional sports team in Orlando to claim a major league title.

To celebrate the championship and to honor the team's players, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer invites the community to downtown Orlando for a parade and celebration on Monday, November 25, 2024. The parade will head down Orange Avenue, starting at Central Boulevard at 4:30 p.m., and include Orlando Pride players, the Walt Disney World's Main Street Philharmonic, special guests, and giveaways as it makes its way to Orlando City Hall.

"This victory is not just for the Orlando Pride, it's for the entire city. Our community has stood behind this team every step of the way, and we can't wait to show them how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication. This parade and celebration are opportunities for all of us to come together and celebrate this incredible achievement," said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.

Following the parade, the festivities will continue outside City Hall from 5 - 5:45 p.m. with a celebration ceremony. During the ceremony, the community will get the first look at the championship trophy.

Those attending the parade and celebration are encouraged to avoid traffic by utilizing SunRail via the Church Street or LYNX Central stations, riding LYNX or using a bike or scooter.

Road closures associated with the parade can be expected between 3:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Orange Avenue.

  • Route: Orange Avenue, starting at Central Boulevard
  • Final Destination: City Hall, 400 South Orange Avenue

MEDIA INFORMATON:

There will be a media availability following the conclusion of the ceremony with select Orlando Pride players, Head Coach Seb Hines, VP of Soccer Operations Haley Carter, Owner and Chairman Mark Wilf, President of Business Operations Jarrod Dillon, and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.

Parking for media is available behind City Hall and in the City Commons Parking Garage.
