OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE CROWN PRINCE AND SENIOR MINISTER AT THE PRIME MINISTER'S OFFICE OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM TO MALAYSIA 17-21 AUGUST 2024

The Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office of Brunei Darussalam, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, will undertake an Official Visit to Malaysia from 17 to 21 August 2024.

His Royal Highness will be accompanied by Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab. Rahaman; Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Brunei Darussalam Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad; and senior government officials from Brunei Darussalam.

While in Kuala Lumpur, His Royal Highness will have an audience with His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, followed by a Luncheon in honour of His Royal Highness and his delegation.

His Royal Highness is also scheduled to call on Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Both sides are expected to exchange views on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.

This visit adds further significance to the enduring and close relationship between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam, which is based on common heritage, culture, and people-to-people ties, especially as both countries celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year.

In 2023, Brunei Darussalam was Malaysia's sixth-largest trading partner among ASEAN Member States, with total trade amounting to USD2.04 billion (RM9.31 billion).
