Security Health Plan rated among top Wisconsin health plans by NCQA

Security Health Plan is pleased to announce the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) rated the health plan among the top in Wisconsin and nationwide. NCQA sets high standards for health plans and evaluates plans on their efforts to provide their members with exceptional service and care.

Below is a summary of Security Health Plan's ratings by plan in the 2024 NCQA Health Insurance Plan Ratings:

  • Security Health Plan's Medicare Advantage HMO-POS plans rated 4.5 out of 5 stars.
  • Security Health Plan's Commercial HMO-POS plans rated 4 out of 5 stars.
  • Security Health Plan's Medicaid HMO plan rated 4 out of 5 stars.

Security Health Plan consistently earns top ratings every year from NCQA. The organization implemented the rating system in 2005 and rates plans that choose to report measures publicly. Health plans are evaluated on three categories of quality measures. They include:

  1. Clinical quality from NCQA's Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®).
  2. Patient experience using the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®).
  3. Results from NCQA's review of a health plan's health clinical performance and member experience (NCQA Accreditation).

Security Health Plan's Medicare Advantage HMO-POS plan was evaluated based on the categories above and rated high in a few key categories:

  • Immunizations: Members are receiving recommended influenza and pneumonia vaccines.
  • Care coordination and member experience: Medicare Advantage members are satisfied with the coordination of their care and overall experience.
  • Screenings: Members are receiving recommended cancer screenings to prevent or receive early treatment for cancers.
  • Chronic conditions: Members with chronic conditions including diabetes and high blood pressure are receiving the recommended treatment and support services to help them manage their conditions.
