Migration management, gas and security are the strategic interests that have prompted the European Union, ever since its constitution, to pay continuous attention to relations with the Southern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. In recent years, however, there has been no shortage of criticism from North African states regarding European interference in domestic policy dossiers, but also for the lack of clarity on the migration dossier itself. What are the interests, critical issues and perspectives of bilateral relations between the EU and Mediterranean Africa's States, from Mauritania to Egypt? These complexities are analysed in this ISPI-dossier from both European and North African countries perspectives.
The essence of the EU-Tunisia partnership can be summed up in three words: halting migration flows
