Several documents on cooperation between Serbia, France adopted

The government of the Republic of Serbia adopted at today's meeting several documents - memoranda of understanding on cooperation and protocols between Serbia and France in various fields.

The signed documents refer to the areas of digital technologies, mining and energy, science, technological development, tourism, agriculture and others.

At the session, the Bill on Strategic Assessment of Environmental Impact was adopted, which provides that this assessment should be carried out for all plans and programs in the field of spatial and urban planning or land use, which establish a framework for approving future development projects.

At the session, the Bill on Environmental Impact Assessment was adopted, which achieves a greater degree of compliance with the Directive of the European Parliament and the Council on environmental impact assessment of certain public and private projects.

The Bill on the control of the risk of major accidents involving dangerous substances was also adopted. This document regulates the rules for the prevention of major accidents involving these types of substances and limiting their consequences for human health and the environment.

Also, the system for controlling the risk of major accidents is being improved through the establishment and implementation of appropriate prevention measures at all levels.

The government of Serbia also adopted the Bill ratifying the Minamata Convention on Mercury, which seeks to resolve issues related to the release and use of mercury in trade and industrial processes.
