On October 6, 2024, at approximately 3:23 p.m., State Police were called to I-90 near mile marker 414.0 eastbound in the town of Lancaster for a report of an accident involving a pickup truck and tractor trailer.

When troopers arrived, the tractor trailer, driven by Henry G. Johnson, 50, of Macon, Georgia, was located off the right shoulder of the road leaking diesel fuel.

An investigation determined that the driver of the pickup truck, Mary A. Kermis, 77, of Amherst, attempted to change lanes causing the pickup truck and tractor trailer to overturn.

Approximately six gallons of diesel leaked onto the roadway.

Kermis was charged with vehicle and traffic violations and transported to Erie County Medical Center with minor injuries.
