Indigenous People's Day Schedule of Services for the City of Alexandria

Most City of Alexandria government offices will be closed Monday, Oct. 14, in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day. The Office of Voter Registration and Elections will be open.

Other schedule changes and closures are listed below.

Monday, Oct. 14: DASH bus service will operate on a Saturday service schedule.

The free King Street Trolley operates from King Street Metro to City Hall/Market Square (301 King St.) with service every 15 minutes, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., every day.

Monday, Oct. 14: Open 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 14: The General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, Court Service Unit, Circuit Court, and the Clerk of Circuit Court Office (Courthouse and Del Pepper Center locations) will be closed.

Monday, Oct. 14: Closed. Customers should check the hours of their local DMV Select location, as it may operate outside of the state holiday closing schedule.

All emergency hotlines operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including the Child Protective Services Hotline at 703.746.5800; the Domestic Violence Hotline at 703.746.4911; the Emergency Mental Health Services or substance use crisis hotline at 703.746.3401; the Adult Protective Services hotline at 703.746.5778 or 988; and the Sexual Assault Hotline at 703.683.7273.

Monday, Oct. 14: All City museums will be open according to their standard operating schedules.

Monday, Oct. 14: Closed.

The City's impound lot is closed on all weekends and observed City holidays. Fees will continue to accrue on Saturday and Sunday, but not on holidays.

Monday, Oct. 14: All Alexandria Library branches will be closed.

Monday, Oct. 14: The Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces and residential permit parking districts. This suspension of enforcement applies only to the restrictions at legal parking spaces and does not permit parking in any normally prohibited location. Temporary no-parking signs will be enforced.

Monday, Oct. 14: Charles Houston, Chinquapin, and Patrick Henry Recreation Centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All other City of Alexandria recreation and nature centers will be closed.

Monday, October 14: The Household Hazardous Waste Electronic Collection Drop-off Center will be closed.

Residential refuse, recycling, and curbside waste collection will be delayed by one day during the week of Monday, October 14.

Curbside food waste collection will follow the normal collection schedule.

Monday, Oct. 14: Open according to its standard operating schedule.
