New York, N.Y. - Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today released the following statement and correlating documents that detail the various catastrophic proposals that are in the MAGA Republican, Project 2025.

"Project 2025 is a roadmap for destruction, a fast-track to authoritarianism, and to put it clearly: never happening under Democrats' watch," said Leader Schumer. "Senate Democrats remain committed to building on the historic progress made under the Biden-Harris administration - creating more jobs, lowering costs, protecting democracy and expanding people's freedoms - not the restriction, devastation, and authoritarianism that Project 2025 would ensure. While the MAGA Republicans are trying to run from this agenda, it is clear: they own Project 2025 and the American people deserve to know what is in it.

• Education: Abolishesthe Department of Education and decimates our public education system by eliminating Head Start for 2,900,000 students, wiping out school meal programs, defunding public schools, ending student loan forgiveness, and privatizing student loans.
