On October 31, 2024, at approximately 4:34 p.m., New York State Police members of Plattsburgh received a report of an individual who had been shot on Plank Road near the intersection of Alder Bend Road in the town of Ellenburg. The victim was traveling south on Plank Road and observed debris in the roadway. The victim stopped the vehicle on the shoulder of the road and attempted to remove the debris. While doing so, the victim was shot in the back by an unknown person and direction. The victim was transported to UVM at CVPH, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.
This is believed to be an isolated incident. However, if you observe debris in or around the area, do not stop and attempt to remove it. Contact Law Enforcement to remove the debris.
