Woman Arrested After Shooting Inside South Seattle Nightclub

Seattle Police arrested a woman for shooting inside of the Showbox nightclub in South Seattle on July 5th.

At 10:29 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1700 block of 1st Avenue South. Officers arrived and secured the scene for further investigation.

Officers determined a physical altercation broke out between multiple women inside the venue. One of the women was assaulted and ultimately pulled out a gun and shot into the ceiling.

Fearful patrons fled in all directions. Multiple officers from across the city responded to the scene.

Police located the shooting suspect in the 1900 block of 1st Avenue South and arrested her. The 35-year-old woman was injured and transported to Swedish First Hill in stable condition.

Officers recovered the firearm and seized it as evidence.

Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit processed the scene and have taken lead on this investigation.
