Bridge Maintenance Begins Tomorrow Night in Washington County

​Uniontown, PA-Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing overnight single-lane bridge restrictions on the following roadways in Cecil, Fallowfield, and South Strabane townships, Washington County, scheduled to begin tomorrow night, Wednesday, November 13.

The restrictions will occur over two nights-9:00 PM-6:00 AM-until the morning of Friday, November 15. The attached plan sheets detail specific locations and corresponding municipalities. All work depends on weather and operations.

  • Interstate 70 at North Junction interchange - plan sheets 31 & 33
  • I-70 over Exit 19 (Route 19/Murtland Avenue) - plan sheets 35 & 36
  • I-70 at Speers/Belle Vernon Bridge - plan sheet 38
  • I-79 over Route 1010 (Henderson Road) in Canonsburg - plan sheets 51 & 52
  • Route 8011 over Route 2002 (Vance Station Road) at South Junction interchange - plan sheet 58

Crews from Green Acres Contracting will clean and flush bridge bearings, scuppers, tooth dams, and drainage as part of a districtwide maintenance contract for 82 bridges throughout Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties - an infrastructure preservation investment of $486K.
