UAE: High Representative Josep Borrell travels to the United Arab Emirates

From 16 to 17 September the High Representative (HR/VP) Josep Borrell will travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

On Monday, in Abu Dhabi, the HR/VP will meet with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Bin Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Dr Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the UAE President; followed by a meeting with Reem Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs.

The mission will be an opportunity to discuss how to further develop the strategic relation between the EU and the UAE, especially in the context of the upcoming EU-GCC Summit in Brussels on 16 October. The High Representative will also discuss challenges and possible steps forwards on several regional and international issues.
