Join us for a Birding Walk with Dr.Nicholson on Saturday, September 21st

Oneida, Tennessee: Begin your Haunting in the Hills Storytelling Festival adventure with a special bird walk on September 21 at 8:00 am (ET). This unique event kicks off the festival with a guided stroll through the serene woods, led by ornithologist Dr. Charles Nicholson. Participants will gather at the Bandy Creek swimming pool for a relaxing yet informative walk.

Dr. Nicholson brings over 35 years of birding experience on the Cumberland Plateau, including the Big South Fork area. As a prominent member of the Tennessee Ornithological Society, he has served as president and editor of its journal. His extensive research, including a PhD in ecology and evolutionary biology, is highlighted in his acclaimed work, Atlas of Breeding Birds of Tennessee.

Having taught bird-watching at the University of Tennessee and led numerous field trips, Dr. Nicholson's expertise offers a unique and enriching experience for festival-goers. This bird walk provides a wonderful opportunity to learn from a leading expert and set a tranquil tone for the festival's storytelling events that follow.
