AIA New York's Nominating Committee is the chapter's governing body for appointments to its Elective Committees: Design Awards, Fellows, Honors, Oculus, Finance, and Scholarships. The Elective Committees hold the distinction of shaping AIANY's awards recipients, editorial content, and in many ways steering the future of the organization and the expression of its values.
The Nominating Committee is itself an elected body that submits the elective slate to the Board of Directors and to membership for vote at the Annual Meeting. The Nominating Committee meets monthly to consider recommended candidates and self-referrals for terms starting the following year. The committee includes five members: four are elected by the chapter members; the fifth is the Immediate Past President.
We are pleased to introduce the following appointments for 2025:

She has followed her passion for design to work in a variety of offices and on a broad range of projects, from museums and large government buildings to institutional and residential projects. Her work is distinguished by a modern sensibility that is balanced and elegant. She believes that one's experience of architecture is inevitably subjective and often ephemeral, and she endeavors to create environments where the user feels effortlessly accommodated to the purpose of a space, no matter the size or function. She has taught both Architecture and Interior Design and enjoys working at the intersection of those disciplines. Alissa grew up in New York and received a BArch degree from Cornell University. She currently co-leads Rogers Partners Architects with her husband and partner, Rob Rogers.

Sameer extends his contributions to the architecture profession through his academic engagement as visiting faculty member with Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania, as well as through active participation in various architectural conferences as speaker and panelist. Sameer is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He is a licensed architect in the State of New York.
