Department of Contemporary Art, Communication, and Theater, School of Music receive $500K “Media Hub” grant

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV - Programs with Shepherd University's School of Music and Department of Contemporary Art, Communication, and Theater will benefit from a "Media Hub" grant.

The programs supported and developed through the $500,000 grant include music, contemporary theater studies, communication and new media, graphic design, journalism, and sport communication.

In addition to supporting these programs, the grant will help Shepherd students build their demonstrable skills within their majors while also facilitating interdisciplinary and multimedia projects for their professional portfolios to bolster their post-graduate outcomes.

Shepherd University President Dr. Mary J.C. Hendrix said these grants are critical for the success of Shepherd students.

"Shepherd University is very grateful for this vital support to upgrade and advance our arts and humanities media hub, which will enhance our educational and performance venues," said Hendrix.

Technology updates will also be implemented that will allow for the improvement of educational and recording spaces for students and the community.
