The New York State Police led a joint detail in the city of Rochester to target illegally possessed firearms. The detail included members of the Special Investigations Unit of Rochester, Special Investigations Unit of Buffalo, Troop E Community Stabilization Unit, SP Rochester Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) Unit, SP Rochester Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), and the Monroe County Crime Analysis Center (MCAC).
Total arrests over two days:
Uniform Traffic Tickets: 47
Warrants: 1 Violation of Probation with U.S. Marshals
Arrests: 9
Felonies: 35
Misdemeanors: 7
Gun and drug charges:
Seven handguns (2 ghost guns)
1 Rifle (Kel-Tec 5.56/.223)
Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd: 11 counts
Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd: 14 counts
Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th: 7 counts
Criminal Possession of a Firearm: 1 count
Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th: 1 count
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd: 4 counts
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th: 3 counts
