Three Suspects Arrested and Three Firearms Recovered in Roslindale

At about 11:15 PM, on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, officers assigned to District E-5 (Roslindale/West Roxbury) arrested Benjamin Pineda, 18, of Charlestown, a 16-year-old Juvenile Male, and a 14-year-old Juvenile Male, on firearm charges.

Officers responded to the area of 120 Brookway Road for a report of a person with a gun. Boston Police Operations advised officers that the 911 caller observed a group of individuals exit a vehicle, and were armed with firearms.

As officers arrived on scene, they observed a group of males matching the description. The group observed officers and immediately began to run. Officers were able to follow the suspects in their cruiser and observed a firearm in one of the individual's hands. Officers stopped their cruiser and a foot pursuit ensued. Officers observed three individuals enter into a vehicle and flee the scene.

Officers were able to locate a suspect attempting to conceal an unknown object under his sweatshirt. Officers ordered the suspect to show his hands, but the suspect disregarded and began to run. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect as he jumped over a fence. Officers canvassed the flight path of the suspect, and were able to recover a firearm.

As more officers arrived on scene, they observed two males running towards the area of 25 Colegate Road. Officers were able to apprehend two suspects, and recovered a firearm. Officers continued to search the flight path of the two suspects, and recovered a firearm.

The recovered firearms were later determined to be a Walther PPK with one round in the chamber and three rounds in the magazine, a Ghost Gun with one round in the chamber and fifteen rounds in the magazine, and a Lurcin I-380 with one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine,

A description of the vehicle was broadcasted and officers assigned to District A-1/15 (Downtown/Charlestown) located the vehicle unoccupied in the area of 66 Medford Street. The vehicle was towed from the scene, pending further investigation.

The 14-year-old Juvenile Male was placed under arrest and charged with Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Trespassing.

The 16-year-old Juvenile Male was placed under arrest and charged with Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device and Trespassing.

Pineda was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Trespassing.

All three suspects are expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
