A woman has been charged following an alleged stabbing in the state's south.
About 7.50pm on Monday 2 December 2024, emergency services were called to a home on Mowatt Street, Queanbeyan, following reports of a stabbing.
Officers attached to Monaro Police District attended and found a 58-year-old man with stab injuries to his arm.
Police were told the injuries were allegedly inflicted by a womanbefore she left the scene prior to police arrival.
The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before he was taken to Queanbeyan Hospital for treatment.
A crime scene was established and police commenced inquiries into the circumstances of the incident.
Following inquiries, about 4pm on Wednesday 4 December 2024, officers attached to the Monaro Region Enforcement Squad arrested a 34-year-old womanon Crawford Street, Queanbeyan.
She was taken to Queanbeyan Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and armed with intent to commit indictable offence.
She appeared before Queanbeyan Local Court yesterday (Thursday 5 December 2024), where she was furtherrefused bail to reappear at the same court on Monday 3 February 2025.
