HRC to Provide July 24 Community Conversation Forum

The City of Bismarck's Human Relations Committee (HRC) is presenting a Community Conversation Forum on Wednesday of this week.

The free public event aims to facilitate conversations about the adversities faced by many people in Bismarck. A panel of experts will address various issues.

"This is our second event in the Community Conversation Forum series," said HRC Chair Thea Jorgensen. "We received great feedback from our first event and listened to what the community wanted to talk about. This panel will discuss the adversities people face in regards to accessibility in the community. As I have said before, as a committee we believe in curiosity over judgment and believe listening to one another fosters a greater sense of understanding."

The Community Conversation Forum will be held on Wednesday, July 24, from 6-8 PM at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library's Meeting Room A. The library is located at 515 North Fifth Street in Bismarck.

The purpose of the HRC is to create an atmosphere of inclusion, equality and accessibility through education and outreach to recognize the value of a diverse community. The committee meets on the third Monday of each month at 5:15 PM in the City/County Building. For more information about the committee, visit the HRC webpage.
