The Neighborhood Assistance Program's funding doubled to $72 million in Governor Josh Shapiro's bipartisan 2024-25 budget.

Wilkes-Barre, PA - Last week, Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Secretary Rick Siger announced a $36 million investment through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) to assist low-income individuals and improve distressed areas in Pennsylvania communities. The NAP, which provides tax credits to businesses that contribute to nonprofit organizations' efforts to revitalize communities, will support 185 projects across the Commonwealth.

The approved funding will support a variety of important community projects: 30 in the central region; 20 in the Lehigh Valley region; 27 in the northeast region; 26 in the northwest region; 37 in the southeast region; and 45 in the southwest region.

NAP's funding was doubled in Governor Josh Shapiro's bipartisan 2024-25 state budget from $36 million to $72 million, allowing DCED to open a second round of funding applications from September 9, 2024, through October 25, 2024.
