Napa County, CA - The County Executive Officer announces the existence of two (2) openings on the Napa County Planning Commission representing the 2nd and 4th Supervisorial Districts with the terms to expire December 31, 2028. Applications are invited from the public at large. No specialized professional background or experience is required.
The Napa County Planning Commission consists of five members. Each Commissioner also serves as an Airport Land Use Commissioner. Applicants must be a resident of Napa County. Members of the Commission are appointed by the Board of Supervisors.
Each elected Supervisor nominates one person to serve on the Commission from the list of applicants. An applicant may reside anywhere within Napa County. The Board of Supervisors then appoints or rejects the nominee. Once appointed, the appointed Commissioner's term runs concurrently with the term of the nominating Supervisor, subject to the will and pleasure of the Board of Supervisors.
A nomination for the announced position will be made to the Board of Supervisors by Liz Alessio, Supervisor District 2, and Amber Manfree, Supervisor District 4.
