NOPD Arrests Two in String of Carjackings, Armed Robbery

The NOPD has arrested two subjects in connection with multiple carjackings and an armed robbery in the First District.

On December 11, 2024, First District detectives arrested 18-year-old Dillon McLendon DOB: 3-23-2006, and 19-year-old Vondell Johnson DOB: 2-14-2005 in connection with the incidents that occurred over the past few weeks.

In addition, investigators confiscated several weapons, phones and clothing (pictured) believed to have been used in the crimes.

McLendon and Johnson were sought in connection with an armed carjacking in the 2500 block of St. Ann Street and an armed robbery in the 3000 block of O'Reilly Street in November of 2024. They are also charged with an unarmed carjacking in the 2800 block of Lapage Street and an armed carjacking at St. Phillip and N. Dupree Streets earlier in December of 2024.
