Several trade unions-including, among others JHL (The Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors), SuPer (The Finnish Union of Practical Nurses), and Tehy (The Union of Health and Social Care Services)-will arrange on February 13 - February 14 a strike as protest against the Government's acts. The majority of the daycare centers are closed and pre-primary education is probably not arranged on February 13 - February 14.
The strike will significantly hinder arrangement of early childhood education and pre-primary Educationservices. The majority of the daycare centers, family day care, group family day care, clubs and open meeting places will be closed because of the strike on February 13 - February 14. Pre-primary education is probably not arranged on February 13 - February 14.
We hope that families themselves arrange care for their children, to the extent possible, on Tuesday, February 13 and on Wednesday, February 14. If a child does not attend early childhood education on February 13 - February 14, the families are not charged for the days of absence.
We will try to keep some daycare centers open, to the extent possible. Within these daycare centers early childhood education is provided to the children whose care cannot be otherwise arranged. Below you can find the list of these daycare centers by area. You will receive information from your own day care center director to which of these daycare centers your child will be transferred to, if necessary. We advise to keep the children of these daycare centers also homeon February 13 - February 14, if possible.

The final number of employees available and open daycare centers will not be known until the morning of the strike. Directors of daycare centers will inform about the matter at a later stage. It is possible that we will not be able to admit all the children willing to our daycare centers. You cannot reserve a daycare center place in advance.
The daycare centers that remain open will provide food as usual. Unfortunately, we cannot account for special diets. We ask you to be prepared to bring your own special foods on February 13 - February 14. Please note that the food you bring cannot be kept in cold storage. Please note also that you can only bring food to the daycare center because of your child's special diet.
The Education and Learning committee and the Swedish section will decide in its meeting on February 12 if pre-primary education will be suspended for the duration of the strike.
If pre-primary education is suspended for the duration of the strike, we advise that children in pre-primary education are taken care of at home on February 13 - February 14 if possible. In the daycare centers that we are aiming to keep open, we will also aim to arrange early childhood education for children of pre-primary educationage.
On Thursday, February 15, daycare centers, family day care, group family day care, clubs and open meeting placesoperate as usual.
There may be changes in the menu on Friday and the next week. Up-to-date menus with allergy notifications can be viewed at the units, and when required, the kitchen staff will provide additional information.
