Norman Police Investigate Toddler Deaths

The Norman Police Department (NPD) responded to a request for a welfare check in relation to a vehicle stopped in the 1000 block of W. Brooks Street at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday.

Once on scene, officers located two children, both age two, inside the vehicle. Both were determined to be deceased at the time of arrival.

The initial investigation indicates that the two children were accidentally left in the vehicle for an extended period of time and were later located by family. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
